Things to Remember When You Installing MechanicalSeals

While it is definitely not a complicated task at all to install in your machines, it may be good to keep in mind that careless installation of seals can have dire consequences. Some of the biggest problems you may encounter are leaks as well as the fast deterioration of your mechanical seal.
Seal manufacturers usually put specific installation instructions in their products for their clients' perusal. You need to read these instruction manuals carefully so you can see the specifications of the particular set of mechanical seals you are buying. Some of them may not work reliably in extreme temperatures or they may require a certain set of oil for you to properly use.
When it comes to oiling your seals, some manufacturers recommend the use of petroleum jelly before you install the mechanical seal. Others suggest using compressor oil or some light mineral oil. Using lubricants will make it easier for you to slide the rubber-sealing boot into the shaft when using and it also helps in bonding the seal to the shaft easily.
